Ode to my Mother-in-Law :)

My mother-in-law is amazing :) She not only sends us to Cabo for a weeks vacation, but drives out from Utah to take care of our Mia and tells US "Thank you" when we return!

Here are some other things she just happened to do in her "down time"...

We walk up to our house and there are new flowers and planters, the bush is trimmed and the yard is mowed!

In the freezer I find homemade baby food frozen in cubes, labeled in bags for Mia to eat! Our fridge was cleaned (thanks Markell), and completely stocked!

Our entire house is clean, I literally thought the maids had come over, and flowers were everywhere

The bathtub was newly caulked, yes she even caulked our bath tub!!!

Our fence was STAINED a beautiful dark brown, and Mia had a brand new swimming pool!

Ofcourse Mia was happy while we were gone, in her new pink dress, having so much fun!

On their way to Farmer's Market, Jazz in the Park...

Trying carrots and possibly liking them...

Life IS good :)

Not so thrilled about pears...

But thrilled about her staycation with Grandma :) and decided this would be good to do EVERY year!

THANK YOU, TONI!

Vacation

We took our first trip together w/o Mia and went to our honeymoon spot just north of Cabo. Michael's mom gave us her timeshare and came to watch Mia (Markell joined for a few days). Here's a few photos from our trip and Mia's time with her grandma and auntie! We'll start with Mia since that's who everyone wants to see anyways.

Trying peaches - not a big fan (have yet to find a solid she loves)

Mia had a great time with her Grandma - going on walks trough the park, to Farmer's Market, Starbucks, playing in her new pool.

Mia loved her aunt Markell and smiled (rare for our girl) often for her.

Johnny and his buddies enjoyed the cruise. They put a good dent in the booze supply and mooned a passing yacht.

Looking up the Pacific from Land's End towards our hotel.

The famous arch at Land's end, the tip of the Baja pennsuila from boat.

Eating an average meal but with a great view!

Hanging out at Johnny's resort while we got the group ready to go on catamaran dinner cruise.

Mikey jet skiing - got it going fast and some good air on wakes and waves.

Mikey & Tyler, Johnny's best friend we've known for years, playing in the waves - they had multiple breaks at once and the waves got the better of the boys more than a few times but they had fun!

Breakfast at Mama Royal's - a famous breakfast spot in Baja that we loved last time. They also do dinner, but change the name to Felix's - we came back and ate their 2x in one day. It's family owned and they remembered us and gave us a free round of drinks. Awesome food.

Cool rock that looks like an animal.

The beach by the resort.

Michael likes to stand on the rocks while the waves break - real safe. He called me Catious Cathy for avoiding the water and being smart.

It's been a great 7 years and we're thrilled to have Mia join us!

Views from Pacifica, the sister hotel down the beach from ours (only 2 resorts on over 3 miles of beach). Brand new, it opened this past winter and is an adult only place with a very serene, spa like feel. We enjoyed a real quiet day there after at day trip to Cabo's craziness.

Hanging out at the Pacifica pool - very calm with few people - notice the cabana beds on the beach.

Lobby of the Pacifica.

The resort had cool architecture, with a minimalist style that encorporates the landscape.

Sunset. The hotel's owner lives on rocks in picture, unreal home.

One of our favorite parts of this area is how unpopulated the beach is - we were usually literally the only people on the beach, regardless of time and day. It's very laid back and the ocean is amazing with huge, loud waves.

Having lunch at The Office, a fun beach bar in central Cabo.

Mi Casa, our favorite dinner spot from honeymoon. Very local, old-time Mexican spot inside an aging cathedral. Great place - we went twice.

Walk from room to beach.

Views from our balcony - we had a great room and view:

Sky Pool, on top of restort/cliff with a beautiful view. The resort had 6 pools, we tried to check a new one out just about every day.
